Set an App Timer to Limit App Usage auf Xiaomi
An app timer on Xiaomi phones caps how long a single app can run each day. Once the limit is reached, the app locks itself and asks you to confirm before you can keep using it, which works as a soft interruption rather than a hard block.
The feature lives inside Digital Wellbeing & parental controls, the same system tool that tracks your overall screen time. It only counts active foreground usage, so background tasks like music playback or downloads are not affected.
To set it up, go to Settings ➔ Digital Wellbeing & parental controls ➔ Dashboard ➔ Timer, pick the app, set the App timer and tap OK.
The limit resets automatically at midnight and applies every day until you remove it. If you only need a one-time break from an app, closing it manually or turning on Focus mode is faster than configuring a permanent timer.
Keep in mind that some apps offer a temporary override once the timer hits zero, letting you extend usage for a few extra minutes. This is expected behavior and not a bug in the timer itself.
