Change Keyboard Layout in MIUI auf Xiaomi
A wrong keyboard layout on a Xiaomi phone usually comes from the default language setup, which loads a standard layout that does not match your typing habits. MIUI stores layout options separately for every installed keyboard language, so switching one language does not automatically fix another.
To change it, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Additional settings ➔ Tap on Languages & input ➔ Tap on Manage keyboards ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Languages. From there, pick the language you want to adjust and open Choose a Language/Layout.
Inside that screen you can turn on layouts such as QWERTY, QWERTZ, AZERTY, Dvorak, Neo2, Colemak, PC or Handwriting, depending on what the language supports. Tap Turn On a Layout for the one you need, then confirm with Tap on Done.
If several layouts are active for the same language, the keyboard usually lets you swipe or tap a switch key to cycle between them while typing. If typing problems continue after changing the layout, check whether the wrong keyboard app is set as default instead, since that is a separate setting.
