Xiaomi: Turn On or Off Color Correction

If someone using your Xiaomi phone has trouble distinguishing colors in charts, status icons, or notification dots, the screen's color rendering may need adjusting for a vision deficiency like red-green color blindness. MIUI ships with a color correction filter built into the Vision accessibility tools, but it stays disabled by default and is easy to miss. Without it turned on, the display keeps showing standard colors that are hard to tell apart for certain types of color vision anomalies.

Turn On/Off Color Correction (Accessibility) auf Xiaomi

Color correction on Xiaomi phones adjusts how colors are rendered across the entire screen, not just inside individual apps. It targets people with color vision deficiencies, where certain colors, like red and green, are hard to tell apart under standard display settings.

The feature lives inside the Vision section of the accessibility tools, separate from display settings like dark mode or reading mode. It is disabled by default because most users do not need it, so you have to switch it on manually before it changes anything on screen.

To find it, go to Tap on SettingsTap on Additional settingsTap on AccessibilityTap on VisionTap on Color correction. From there, Enable or disable Use color correction and then Set the Correction mode to match the type of color vision difference you want to compensate for, such as deuteranomaly (red-green vision deficiency).

Keep in mind that color correction changes how colors look system-wide, including in photos, videos, and games, so screenshots and screen recordings will also reflect the adjusted colors. If you only want warmer or cooler tones without correcting for a vision deficiency, a display color temperature setting is usually a better fit than this accessibility filter.

Frequently asked questions

Some Xiaomi phones group vision tools slightly differently. Check under Tap on AccessibilityTap on Vision first, since Color correction sits inside that submenu rather than directly in the main Accessibility list.
