Xiaomi: Allow Repeated Calls in Do Not Disturb Mode

When Do Not Disturb is active on your Xiaomi phone, every incoming call gets silenced, even urgent ones. MIUI has a separate setting that lets a second call from the same number within a short window ring through instead of staying muted.

Allow Repeated Calls in Do Not Disturb auf Xiaomi

Do Not Disturb on Xiaomi phones silences calls, notifications, and alerts by default. That works well for meetings or sleep, but it can also block someone trying to reach you urgently.

MIUI includes a dedicated exception for this: repeated calls. If the same person or number calls you twice within roughly 15 minutes, the second call can be allowed to ring normally, even while Do Not Disturb stays on for everything else.

This setting sits inside the Do Not Disturb menu itself, so you do not need to disable the mode to use it. Go to SettingsSound & vibrationDo not disturbNotify about repeated calls and toggle it on.

Once enabled, a first call is still silenced. Only a follow-up call from the same caller within the time window breaks through. This makes it useful for family emergencies or work situations where someone might call back immediately if you do not pick up.

If you need specific contacts to always reach you regardless of repeated attempts, check your contact or app exceptions inside Do Not Disturb instead. That approach works from the first call, without waiting for a second attempt.

Frequently asked questions

No. The Notify about repeated calls option only applies to phone calls. Messaging apps need to be added separately under app exceptions inside Do not disturb.
