Xiaomi: Make a Phone Call

On Xiaomi phones the Phone app handles both dialing and your call history in one screen. Most confusion comes from the call button itself: on dual SIM devices it is split into two colored halves, each tied to one SIM slot, instead of a single green button.

How to dial a number

1. Open Phone.
2. Switch to Contacts or Dial pad.
3. Enter or select a phone number.
4. Tap the green Phone button to place the call.

Why the call button looks different with dual SIM

If both SIM slots are active, the round call button is divided into two segments. Each half carries the color and, once set, the name assigned to that SIM slot. Tapping the left or right half places the call through that specific SIM, which matters when the two lines use different tariffs or data plans.

If only one SIM is inserted, or the second slot is disabled, the button appears as a single solid green circle and there is no selection to make.

When this is not the right fix

If calls fail to connect at all rather than dialing from the wrong SIM, the issue usually sits with network registration or airplane mode rather than the dialer itself. Renaming SIM slots in the SIM card settings removes most of the confusion around which half belongs to which number.
