Notch Display per App auf Xiaomi
The notch on Xiaomi phones is not a fixed hardware element from the software's point of view. MIUI treats it as a display zone that each app can either respect or ignore, and this behavior is controlled per app rather than globally.
When an app is not designed for a notch, it sometimes stretches content straight into that area, cutting off text or UI elements. Other apps play it safe and add a black bar above the notch, wasting screen space even though the app itself could fill it.
To fix this, open Settings ➔ Notifications & Control center ➔ Status bar ➔ Notch in individual apps. Pick the app that looks wrong, then choose Auto or Always show notch.
Auto lets MIUI decide based on how the app was built, which works well for most modern apps. Always show notch forces the cutout to stay visible, which helps with older games or media apps that otherwise draw content underneath it.
Switching this per app rather than system-wide keeps your other apps unaffected. If an app still misbehaves after changing this, the issue usually sits in that app's own settings, not in MIUI.
