Xiaomi: Restore Deleted Contacts from the Trash Bin

Accidentally deleted a contact on your Xiaomi phone and now you cannot call or message that person? MIUI keeps removed contacts in a separate Trash folder before they disappear for good, so nothing is lost right away. You just need to find that folder before the 30-day window runs out.

Restore Deleted Contacts from Trash Bin auf Xiaomi

When you delete a contact on a Xiaomi phone, it does not vanish right away. MIUI moves it into a hidden Trash folder inside the Contacts app, where it stays recoverable for 30 days before being permanently erased.

This safety net is useful if you swipe-deleted the wrong entry or cleaned up your address book too aggressively and later realize you still need that number.

To bring a contact back, open Tap on ContactsOpen the MenuTap on Trash. Inside the Trash folder you will see every contact removed in the last 30 days.

Tap and hold a Contact to select it. If you deleted several entries at once, use If desired, select more Contacts to mark them all in one go.

Once your selection is ready, go to Open the MenuTap on Recover. The contact reappears in your regular address book immediately, with the same number and name it had before deletion.

If a contact is missing from the Trash folder, the 30-day period has likely already expired, and the entry cannot be restored on the device itself. In that case, check whether the number is still saved in your Google or Mi Cloud account backup.
