Restore Deleted Photos or Videos from the Recycle Bin auf Xiaomi
When you delete a photo or video in the Gallery app on a Xiaomi phone, the file does not disappear right away. MIUI moves it to a hidden trash folder inside the Gallery, where it stays for 30 days before being wiped permanently.
This safety mechanism exists so accidental deletions do not cause instant data loss. During those 30 days, the original file remains fully recoverable and can be moved back to its original album with a single tap.
To bring a deleted photo or video back, open the trash folder and restore it manually:
Tap on Gallery ➔ Tap on Albums ➔ Tap on Trash bin ➔ Tap and hold a Photo/Video ➔ Tap on Restore
Restored files return to the album they were originally deleted from, keeping their metadata intact.
If the 30-day period has already passed, the file is removed automatically and cannot be recovered through the Gallery app anymore. In that case, check whether the photo or video was already synced to a cloud backup service, since that is often the only remaining source for recovery.
If you deleted files directly through a file manager instead of the Gallery app, they might not pass through this trash bin at all, so always check the Gallery trash first before assuming a loss is permanent.
