Xiaomi: Change Quick Ball Shortcuts

The Quick Ball on Xiaomi phones only holds five shortcuts at a time, so adding a new function always means removing one that is already assigned. If you tap the wrong field or pick the wrong replacement, you can accidentally lose quick access to a shortcut you use every day.

Select Quick Ball Shortcuts auf Xiaomi

The Quick Ball, also called Access Tool, is a floating button that MIUI places over every screen. It gives fast access to a small, fixed set of actions instead of forcing you to open the notification shade or an app drawer.

That convenience comes with a limit: the panel behind the ball only shows five fields at once. There is no way to add a sixth shortcut without first removing one of the existing five, which is why picking a replacement always overwrites a previous choice.

To change what the ball offers, open SettingsAdditional settingsQuick ballSelect shortcuts. From there, tap the shortcut you want to remove, then choose the new function you want in its place.

This setting only rearranges the five available slots. It does not create new shortcuts or extend the panel, and it does not affect other floating tools like screen recording controls or the notification shade.

If the Quick Ball keeps resetting to default shortcuts, check whether a system update reset app permissions tied to Additional settings, since that can silently restore the original five entries.

Frequently asked questions

No. The panel is fixed at five fields. Adding a sixth function always replaces one of the current five under Select shortcuts.
