Enable Keyboard Dark Theme in Battery Saver auf Xiaomi
The keyboard on a Xiaomi phone does not automatically follow the system dark mode. It has its own power-related switch that only reacts once battery saver is active.
When this switch is off, the keyboard keeps its bright layout even while the rest of the interface dims for battery saver. That costs extra power on OLED panels, since white pixels draw more current than black ones.
You control this behavior through the keyboard app settings, not the general display settings. Open Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Additional settings ➔ Tap on Languages & input ➔ Tap on Manage keyboards ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Preferences ➔ Enable or disable Switch to dark theme in battery saver.
Turning it on makes the keyboard switch to a dark layout automatically whenever battery saver mode is active, and back to normal once you disable battery saver or plug in a charger.
If you want the keyboard permanently dark regardless of battery state, use the keyboard theme settings instead of this switch. This option only matters for the automatic behavior tied to battery saver.
There is no visible side effect besides the color change. Typing speed, autocorrect and layout stay identical in both modes.
