Xiaomi: Add a Custom Text Watermark to Camera Photos

If every photo automatically shows your device or camera model as a watermark, you might want your own text there instead. The Watermark settings inside the Camera app let you swap that default label for a personal signature, but the option sits a few taps deep in the menu. Once set, the custom text gets stamped on every new shot instead of the model name.

Set a Custom Watermark in the Camera App auf Xiaomi

The Camera app on Xiaomi phones stamps every photo with a watermark naming the device or camera type by default. This label comes from a built-in Camera function, not a separate app, so it appears automatically on new shots without extra setup.

If you want your own text there instead, you can replace that automatic label with a custom watermark. Go to Tap on CameraOpen the MenuTap on SettingsTap on WatermarkTap on Custom watermarkEnter a Custom watermark and tap Save.

Once saved, your text replaces the device name on every new photo until you change or clear it again in the same menu. Photos taken before this change keep their original watermark, since the setting only affects future shots.

If you only want to hide watermarks entirely rather than customize them, turning off the watermark toggle is faster than typing custom text. Third-party watermark apps are not needed for this, and running one alongside the built-in setting can leave two overlapping watermarks on the same photo.

Frequently asked questions

The option inside Tap on Watermark controls photos taken with the Camera app. Video recordings are not stamped the same way.
