Change Default Ringtone auf Android
Every Android phone ships with a default ringtone, but the sound settings hold a much larger library than most people realize. On top of the preinstalled tones, you can also assign any song or audio file stored on the device as your ringtone.
The setting lives under sound controls, not display or app settings, which is why it can be hard to find on a new phone. Changing it does not affect notification sounds or alarm tones separately - those are configured on their own screens nearby.
Menu path to change the ringtone
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Sound & vibration ➔ Tap on Phone ringtone ➔ Choose a Category ➔ Select a Ringtone and tap on Save.
The category list separates preinstalled tones from any music or audio files stored locally on the phone. Selecting a ringtone plays a short preview before you confirm, so you can compare a few options before saving.
If the phone still rings with the old tone after saving, check whether a contact-specific ringtone has been set separately, since those override the default sound for individual calls.
