Android: Set Up a Do Not Disturb Schedule

Turning Do Not Disturb on and off manually every night gets tedious, and forgetting to switch it off in the morning means missed calls or alarms. A schedule handles the activation and deactivation automatically based on fixed times or calendar events, so you do not have to remember it at all. This is useful for recurring situations like sleep hours, work meetings, or weekends.

Schedule Do Not Disturb auf Android

Do Not Disturb only stays active as long as you leave it turned on manually, which means it often gets forgotten before bed or left running the next morning.

Android lets you create schedules that switch the mode on and off automatically, either by fixed time or by calendar event. Each schedule runs independently, so you can set one for nighttime hours and another for work meetings without conflicts.

To set one up, open Tap on SettingsTap on Sound & vibrationTap on Do Not DisturbTap on SchedulesTap on Add more. Choose between Select Event or Time, depending on whether the schedule should follow your calendar or a fixed clock time.

Give the schedule a name and confirm with Enter a Name and tap on Add. Afterward, define which days it should repeat on and set the start and end time under Set the Days and the Start/End time.

A time-based schedule works well for recurring routines like sleep or focus blocks. An event-based schedule reacts to actual calendar entries, which fits better for meetings that shift from week to week.
