Turn On/Off System-Wide Subtitles auf Android
Android has a built-in captioning system that works independently from the automatic captions some apps generate on their own. This system-wide feature controls how subtitles look in any app that respects the accessibility caption settings, including video players, streaming apps, and some system dialogs.
When captions appear too small, in the wrong color, or not at all, the cause is usually the Caption preferences menu, not the app itself. Turning the feature on or off, or changing its style, applies globally rather than per app.
Where to change it
Open Settings ➔ Accessibility ➔ Caption preferences ➔ Show captions to enable or disable the feature. From the same screen you can adjust text size, font, color, and background style. The predefined style Default White on black gives the highest contrast and is a good starting point if captions are currently hard to read.
If an app still shows no captions after enabling this setting, the video or app itself may not offer any caption track, or it may rely on its own separate caption controls instead of the system ones. In that case, check the app's internal playback settings first.
