Oppo: Add App Shortcut to the Home Screen

On Oppo phones running the App Drawer layout, newly installed apps stay tucked away in the drawer instead of landing on the home screen. If you keep swiping up just to launch one app, you are missing a shortcut that needs to be placed there manually.

Add App Shortcut to the Home Screen auf Oppo

On Oppo devices with the App Drawer layout active, the home screen only shows the apps you placed there yourself. This is different from the default layout, where every installed app appears on the home screen automatically. The App Drawer keeps your home screen tidy, but it means new apps need a manual step before you can launch them without swiping up first.

To add a shortcut, open the drawer and pull the app onto the home screen: Swipe up to open the App drawerTap and hold an AppDrag the App upwardsRelease the App to position it. Releasing your finger drops the icon at that exact spot, and you can still reposition it afterward like any other home screen icon.

The original app entry stays inside the App Drawer as well, so you end up with two access points to the same app, not a duplicate installation. If you would rather see every app on the home screen without doing this for each one, switching the launcher back to the standard layout is the faster fix.

This only affects icon placement. Notifications, permissions, and app data are not touched by moving a shortcut.
