Oppo: Turn Overnight Auto-update On or Off

If your Oppo phone applies system updates without asking, overnight auto-update is likely active. It only installs updates while you are not using the device, between 2 and 5 AM, and only downloads them over WLAN. Turning it off keeps every update on hold until you approve it manually.

Turn Overnight Auto-update On or Off auf Oppo

Overnight auto-update is a ColorOS system function that installs pending software updates automatically at night, without you tapping through the update screen yourself.

The system only runs this process in a fixed window between 02:00 and 05:00. It downloads and installs an update only if the phone is connected to WLAN and not in active use during that time. Mobile data is never used for this feature.

Keep it enabled if you want your phone to stay current without extra steps. Disable it if you prefer to control exactly when updates run, for example because you rely on the phone overnight for alarms, or want to check release notes before installing.

To change the setting, go to SettingsSoftware updateSettingsEnable or disable Auto update overnight.

With the toggle off, the phone still checks for updates on the Software update screen, but installation always waits for your manual confirmation.
