Set Dark or Light Theme for the Contacts App auf Oppo
The Contacts app on Oppo phones running ColorOS does not always follow the global dark mode setting automatically. It has its own theme option, which is why calls, messages and your contact list can still appear bright even when the rest of the interface is dark.
Switching to a dark theme lowers glare in low-light environments and can reduce power consumption on OLED displays, since darker pixels use less energy. A light theme, on the other hand, offers better readability in bright rooms or direct sunlight.
Menu path to change the theme
Open the app and tap on Contacts. From there, open the Menu, then tap on Settings. Select Theme and choose either Light or Dark.
The change applies immediately, so you can preview both options before deciding. If the app still looks wrong after switching, force-closing and reopening Contacts usually refreshes the display.
This setting only affects the Contacts app. Other apps, including Messages or the phone dialer, may need their theme adjusted separately if they are not already following the system-wide dark or light mode.
