Oppo: Turn Off the Screen Lock Password

The screen lock password on Oppo phones sits inside the security settings and is managed separately from fingerprint or face data. Removing it does not delete your biometric profiles, but it does remove the fallback code that ColorOS normally asks for after a restart or too many failed biometric attempts.

To turn it off, follow this path:

Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Password & biometrics ➔ Tap on Lock screen password ➔ Tap on Turn off password ➔ Tap on Disable

You need to enter your current PIN or pattern before ColorOS lets you turn it off, so keep it ready. Once confirmed, the lock screen switches to swipe-to-unlock and no longer asks for any code, not even after a reboot.

This setting is worth skipping if you use mobile banking apps or a work profile that requires a device lock policy, since some apps refuse to run without one. If you only want fewer prompts rather than none, consider a longer screen timeout or Smart Unlock instead of removing the password completely.
