Expand RAM Using Internal Storage auf Oppo
Oppo phones running Coloros can turn part of the internal storage into additional RAM. This helps keep more apps active in the background and reduces reloading when switching between them.
The option only appears when enough free internal storage is available. Devices with little free space may not show the feature at all, or only offer smaller expansion sizes.
You find the setting here:
Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on About phone ➔ Tap on RAM ➔ Enable or disable RAM expansion ➔ Set the Expansion
Depending on the model, you can pick between 2 GB, 3 GB, or 5 GB of expanded RAM. A larger expansion uses more internal storage, so leave some buffer space free for downloads, updates, and app data.
RAM expansion helps most with multitasking and apps that stay open in the background. It does not speed up storage itself, and heavy gaming performance depends more on the processor than on this setting.
If storage is already nearly full, skip the expansion or choose a smaller size first. Freeing up storage before enabling a larger expansion avoids running into low-storage warnings later.
