Turn On/Off Wake Google Assistant with Power Button auf Oppo
On Oppo phones running Coloros, the power button can double as a shortcut for Google Assistant. A press of about half a second on the power button wakes the assistant instead of just locking or unlocking the screen. This behavior is controlled by one dedicated toggle, so it is either fully on or fully off for the whole device.
If Google Assistant keeps opening every time you try to quickly lock your screen, the toggle is active and can be turned off. If pressing the power button does nothing for Assistant even though you want that shortcut, the toggle is disabled and needs to be switched on.
To change it, go to Settings ➔ Convenience tools, then find the option for waking Google Assistant with the power button. Switching it on or off there immediately changes how the power button reacts, without affecting any other power button function like restarting the device or accessing the power menu.
This setting is independent from Google Assistant app settings and from other voice-activation options such as a dedicated wake phrase. Changing it only affects the power button shortcut, not whether Google Assistant itself is installed or active on the phone.
