Rename a Fingerprint auf Oppo
Oppo assigns default labels such as Finger 1 or Finger 2 to every fingerprint you enroll on ColorOS. This naming has nothing to do with which physical finger you used, so with several entries saved it gets hard to know which one belongs to your thumb or your index finger.
Renaming a fingerprint does not change how it works for unlocking or payment authorization. It only replaces the label shown in the security settings, making the list easier to manage, especially if multiple people share the device with their own fingerprints stored.
Where to rename a fingerprint
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Password & biometrics ➔ Tap on Fingerprint. Confirm your screen lock if the system asks for it, then Choose a Fingerprint from the list.
On the detail screen, tap the name field, Enter a Name such as Thumb Right or Dad, and confirm with Save. Repeat this for every entry you want to relabel.
If you only have one fingerprint saved and no confusion between entries, renaming is optional. It becomes useful once you register fingerprints for guest access, a second household member, or specific use cases like a spare finger for when your hand is wet.
