Oppo: Turn Emoji Suggestions On or Off in the Keyboard

If Gboard keeps popping up emoji suggestions while you type, or if none show up at all even though you want them, the Show emoji suggestions option in the text correction settings is likely set the wrong way. This behavior comes from the keyboard's input prediction feature, not from the messaging app itself. A quick check in the keyboard settings usually clears it up.

Turn Emoji Suggestions On or Off in Gboard auf Oppo

Emoji suggestions come from Gboard, the keyboard app running on your Oppo phone, not from the messaging or chat app you are typing in. Gboard scans the words you type and offers matching emoji as you go. When this feature is switched on, small emoji icons show up above the keyboard or in the suggestion bar while you write a message.

Some people find these suggestions helpful for finding the right emoji fast. Others find them distracting, especially when typing longer texts where the suggestion bar keeps changing. Turning the option off removes emoji hints from the suggestion row, but text prediction and autocorrect keep working as before.

The setting sits inside the keyboard's own menu, separate from the general system settings for notifications or apps. To reach it, go to SettingsAdditional settingsKeyboard & input methodGboardText correction, then enable or disable Show emoji suggestions.

If emoji still do not appear after enabling this option, check that Gboard is set as your active keyboard, since a different input method will not use this setting at all.

An update can reset keyboard preferences, which switches the Show emoji suggestions option back to its default state. Open SettingsAdditional settingsKeyboard & input methodGboardText correction and check the toggle again.
