Auto-Download MMS Toggle auf Samsung
Samsung phones fetch MMS content, such as photos or videos sent in a message, right after the message itself lands on the device. This happens because the Auto retrieve option inside the Multimedia messages settings is turned on by default.
With Auto retrieve active, attachments download over whichever connection is available, including mobile data. On plans with limited data or while roaming, this can quietly use up your allowance without you tapping anything.
To change this behavior, go to Tap on Messages ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on More settings ➔ Tap on Multimedia messages ➔ Enable or disable Auto retrieve.
Switching Auto retrieve off does not block MMS from arriving. You still get the notification and the message itself, but the media stays unloaded until you open the message and tap to download it manually.
Leave Auto retrieve on if you are on an unlimited plan and want attachments ready the moment you open a chat. Turn it off if you are watching data usage, traveling abroad, or simply want control over what downloads and when.
