Manage App Autostart Permissions auf Xiaomi
Autostart on Xiaomi phones decides which apps get permission to launch background services the moment you power on the device. The app itself does not open; only its background functions, sync routines, or notification listeners start running.
MIUI restricts autostart by default for most third-party apps to save battery and reduce RAM usage. This can cause delayed notifications, broken alarms, or missing sync updates for apps that rely on background processes to stay active.
To review or change this permission, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Apps ➔ Tap on Permissions ➔ Tap on Autostart. You get a list of installed apps with a toggle next to each one.
Switch the toggle to Allow an app to autostart if you need its background services always ready, for example messaging apps or fitness trackers. Set it to Deny for apps you rarely use to keep battery drain and background data usage low.
Allowing too many apps to autostart increases RAM usage and can shorten battery life between charges. If an app still misses notifications after enabling autostart, check its individual battery saver settings as well, since MIUI applies both restrictions independently.
