Turn Auto-download MMS On or Off auf Xiaomi
Xiaomi phones download MMS attachments such as photos and videos automatically as soon as a message with an attachment arrives. This behavior is controlled inside the Messages app itself and runs separately from your general mobile data settings, so turning off background data for other apps will not stop it.
Auto-download becomes a problem when you are on a limited data plan or roaming, since a few video attachments can use up your allowance without any warning. Turning the setting off means MMS attachments only download once you tap on them manually inside a conversation.
To change the setting, go to Tap on Messages ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Choose a SIM card (Dual SIM) ➔ Enable or disable Auto-download MMS. On dual-SIM phones each SIM card has its own toggle, so check both if you send and receive messages on two numbers.
If you disable auto-download and later cannot open an attachment, check the toggle again before assuming the message itself is broken. A disabled setting is the most common reason MMS attachments will not load.
