Adjust Screen Timeout Duration auf Xiaomi
The screen timeout on a Xiaomi phone controls how long the display stays on before it switches to standby. MIUI lets you pick a value between 15 seconds and 10 minutes, and the phone applies it after every period without touch input.
A short timeout saves battery but forces you to unlock more often. A long timeout keeps content visible longer, which is useful when reading or following a recipe, but drains the battery faster and increases the risk that someone else glances at your screen while it stays unlocked.
To change the value, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Always-on display & Lock screen ➔ Tap on Sleep ➔ Set a sleep timer. Pick the duration that fits how you use the phone.
If a lock screen password, PIN, pattern or fingerprint is set as the unlock method, the phone still requires that unlock step once the sleep timer triggers. Changing the timeout only changes when the screen turns off, not whether you need to authenticate afterward.
If the display still turns off unexpectedly before the set time, check whether a battery saver mode or an app-specific power restriction is overriding the sleep timer.
