Search for Words in a Conversation auf Android
Long message threads make it hard to find one specific reply, address or link buried under weeks of chat. Google Messages includes a built-in search that scans a single conversation instead of your whole inbox, which returns fewer but more relevant results.
Where the search sits
Open Messages and pick the thread you want to check. Inside that conversation, open the Menu and tap Search. Type the word you are looking for and confirm with Search again.
Every match gets highlighted directly in the message bubbles. Use the Arrows next to the search bar to jump between older and newer matches without scrolling manually.
When this is not enough
This search only covers text content, not images, attachments or contact names. If you cannot remember the exact wording, try a shorter partial word instead of a full sentence, since the search matches substrings.
If the conversation was deleted or archived, it will not appear in this in-thread search at all. In that case check the archive list first before assuming the message is gone.
