Turn On or Off Dark Mode auf Oppo
Dark mode replaces the light system background across the home screen, settings menu and most native apps with a black or dark gray layout. On Oppo phones running ColorOS, this option sits directly inside the display settings and takes effect immediately after selection.
To switch it on, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Display & brightness ➔ Choose Lightor Dark. Selecting Dark applies the darker theme system-wide, while Light reverts to the standard bright layout.
Why some apps stay light
Third-party apps control their own theme separately from the system setting. If an app still shows a white background after you enable Dark mode, check that app's own display or theme setting, since it may need to be switched independently or set to follow the system.
On AMOLED screens, dark backgrounds turn off individual pixels instead of lighting them, which reduces power draw compared to a white interface. The visual difference is less noticeable on LCD panels, where battery savings from Dark mode are minimal.
If your eyes are sensitive mainly at night rather than all the time, a scheduled toggle based on sunset or a fixed time range works better than leaving Dark mode on permanently, provided that scheduling option is available on your device.
