Oppo How to Set up App Permissions

App data usage
Installing apps on the Oppo smartphone allows access to WLAN and the mobile data by default. ColorOS allows us to control apps' access to the Internet. For example, we can completely disable the Internet for an app, but we can also instruct the device to only give the app access to the mobile data or WLAN.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on App management
- Tap on App list
- Tap on App you want
- Tap on Data usage details
- Enable or Disable Disable Mobile Data / Disable Wi-Fi
Background Data
In order to receive notifications from apps that are not currently actively used on Oppo smartphones, the background data of the respective app must be activated, which it is by default, allowing the app to access the Internet in the background.
If background data is deactivated, no data can be accessed via the Internet and therefore no notifications will appear (does not apply to offline notifications).

- Open the Settings
- Tap on App management
- Tap on App list
- Tap on App you want
- Tap on Data usage details
- Enable or Disable Background data
Permission to Change system settings
Some apps require access to make changes to system settings, but this is not security related access to the lock screen or passwords, but to change the ring tone or background, for example.
On the Oppo smartphones with ColorOS, these settings are somewhat hidden deep within the app permissions.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on App management
- Tap on App permissions
- Tap on Set subordinate permissions
- Tap on Rarely used permissions
- Tap on Modify system settings
- Tap on App you want
- Enable or Disable Allow modifying system settings
Autostart
After starting the Oppo smartphone, not only the operating system ColorOS (Android) is loaded, but also fixed apps, but too many apps with an "autostart" can make the device sluggish.
On the Oppo-Smartphone there is an autostart manager, with which apps can be defined quickly and easily, which are executed automatically in the background when the smartphone starts.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on App management
- Tap on Auto-launch apps
- Enable or Disable desired App
Background activity
To extend the battery life of the Oppo smartphone, Android offers a lot of optimization functions. A small but powerful function is the background activity. If it is activated, ColorOS or Android can decide for itself when the app may run in the background and when not.
This function is also responsible for the fact that most apps are closed after about two minutes when the screen is switched off. In order to allow the app to continue running, background activity must also be allowed.
In return, the app can also be denied background activity.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on App management
- Tap on App list
- Tap on App you want
- Tap on Battery usage
- Choose between Run in Background, Don´t Run in Background and Smart Background Running
Screen Overlay
In order for apps like Messenger to show up on top of other apps, the "floating windows" feature must be enabled on the Oppo smartphone so that apps can show up on top of other apps and provide quick access to its features.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on App management
- Tap on Display over other apps
- Enable or Disable desired App
Full screen mode
If the full screen display is not activated for an app, the status bar and the navigation bar will still be displayed, but if the app is to run in full screen, this must be specified in the settings.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Display & brightness
- Tap on Screen display
- Tap on Full screen display by app
Picture-in-Picture
If the "picture-in-picture" function is activated on the Oppo smartphone, you can, for example, continue to watch YouTube videos in a small window, even if another app is currently being used. The window can be moved freely on the screen.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on App management
- Tap on App list
- Tap on App you want
- Tap on Picture-in-picture
- Enable or Disable Picture-in-Picture
