Use as a Wi-Fi repeater
With Wi-Fi Tethering, the Oppo smartphone can be set up as a repeater, allowing an existing WLAN connection to be shared with other devices.
All that is required for the setup is a network name and password, but it can also be used with the default values.
Note: If Wi-Fi Tethering is enabled, features such as Oppo Share, Wi-Fi Direct or multiscreen can be used.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Other Wireless Connections
- Tap on Wi-Fi tethering
- Enable or Disable Wi-Fi tethering
Mobile Hotspot
If the Oppo smartphone has mobile data, the Internet can be shared with connected devices via a personal WLAN hotspot, with the Oppo device acting as a router to which other devices can connect.
The WLAN hotspot can be activated or deactivated on the Oppo smartphone under the settings for wireless connections.
Note: The WLAN hotspot can also be switched on or off in the Quick Settings.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Other Wireless Connections
- Tap on Personal hotspot
- Enable or Disable Personal hotspot
Band
WLAN hotspots are usually started on the Oppo smartphone with the frequency 2.4GHz, but if the device supports it, the faster frequency (AP band) 5 GHz can also be used.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Other Wireless Connections
- Tap on Personal hotspot
- Tap on Personal hotspot settings
- Tap on AP band
- Choose between 2.4 GHz band and 5 GHz band
- Confirm with Save
Turn off Wi-Fi Hotspot automatically
Starting with ColorOS 7 (Android 10), it is possible on the Oppo smartphone to have the WLAN hotspot automatically deactivated after 10 minutes of inactivity.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Other Wireless Connections
- Tap on Personal hotspot
- Enable or Disable Automatically turn off personal hotspot
Set Data limit
The WLAN hotspot uses the mobile data to share the Internet with other devices. If no Internet flat rate is available, it is recommended to activate data restriction. If the defined data limit is reached, the WLAN hotspot will be deactivated.
If the personal hotspot is reactivated after the limit is reached, the data restriction is reset.

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Other Wireless Connections
- Tap on Personal hotspot
- Tap on Connection management
- Tap on Data restriction
- Choose desired Limit

- Tap on Connection management
- Tap on Maximum allowed connections
