Default homepage

When the Chrome browser is opened on the LG smartphone, the Google web page is displayed by default, and any web page can be set as the home page of the browser.

Step 1:  Open the  Chrome  Browser

Step 3:  Open the  Settings
Step 4:  Tap on  Homepage
Step 5:  Tap on current  Homepage
Step 6:  Enter desired  URL  and tap on  Back

Change search engine

Chrome Browser defaults to the search engine selected when you first set up your LG phone, and you can change the default search engine later.

Available for selection:

  • Google
  • Yahoo!
  • Bing
  • DuckDuckGo
  • Ecosia

Location

Before a website can use the LG smartphone's location, it must be approved in the browser. The location request can also be permanently blocked in the Chrome browser, but it is then possible to create exceptions for websites.

Auto-Download

Before a file is downloaded in the Chrome browser, the browser asks if the download is desired, and the "Ask First" function can be enabled or disabled in the browser's web page settings.

Dark Mode

Many devices now have a system-wide dark mode (dark design). Despite this, the Chrome browser is always displayed in the light design by default. In the settings, the dark design can be selected, but also the design of the system settings.

Desktop version

there is much less space on the screen of the LG smartphone as there is on a computer. that's why most websites are optimized for mobile devices. then, not always all functions of the website are available or the functionality is severely limited. if desired, the desktop version can be forced via the browser.

JavaScript

JavaScript is a scripting language used to develop dynamic web pages. The Chrome browser on the LG smartphone allows you to disable JavaScript. If JavaScript is disabled, web pages can be added to the exception.

Note: We do not recommend disabling JavaScript. Almost all web pages use this scripting language, including this simulator.

Pop-ups

Even though pop-ups on an LG smartphone are not nearly as annoying as on a desktop PC, they can be activated or deactivated.

Lite mode

Web pages are becoming more and more complex and the content such as pictures and videos are getting larger. This also has an impact on data consumption. To reduce the data connection, the Chrome browser of the LG smartphone can be set to Lite mode, which reduces data consumption by up to 60 percent.
