Unmount Mount Format Encrypt or decypt SD Card Decrypt memory card

Unmount

To prevent possible damage to the memory card or loss of data, before removing the memory card, it should also be unmount from the system, which will disconnect the memory card from the LG smartphone, thus preventing transfer between the card and the device.

After Unmount, the memory card can be retrieved at any time.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  General
Step 3:  Tap on  Storage
Step 4:  Tap on  Unmount

Mount

An inserted memory card is recognised by the LG smartphone by default and made available directly. No further action is required.

However, if a memory card has been ejected, it will have to be reloaded manually.

Format

To remove all data from a memory card, it is sufficient to format it, and memory cards with the wrong file format must be formatted.

The formation can be done directly via the LG smartphone.

Step 6:  Tap on  Storage settings

Encrypt or decypt SD Card

To enhance the protection of data on the LG smartphone memory card, the card can be encrypted. Once the process is complete, the memory card can only be used in the device that encrypted it, and other devices cannot read the memory card until it is decrypted.

Android 9 (LG UX 9.0)
Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  General
Step 3:  Tap on  Lock screen & security
Step 4:  Tap on  Encryption & credentials
Step 5:  Tap on  Encrypt SD card
Step 6:  Tap on  Continue
Step 7:  Choose between  New data encryption  and  Full encryption
Step 8:  Tap on  Encrypt now
Step 9:  Enter  Password / PIN / Pattern
Step 10:  Confirm with  Encrypt now
  1. Open the Settings
  2. Tap on General
  3. Tap on Lock screen & security
  4. Tap on Encryption & credentials
  5. Tap on Encrypt SD card
  6. Tap on Continue
  7. Choose between New data encryption and Full encryption
  8. Tap on Encrypt now
  9. Enter Password/PIN/Pattern
  10. Confirm with Encrypt now

Decrypt memory card

To use an encrypted memory card in another device, it must be decrypted on the device on which the SD card was encrypted.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  General
Step 3:  Tap on  Lock screen & security
Step 4:  Tap on  Encryption & credentials
Step 5:  Tap on  Encrypt SD card
Step 6:  Choose  Stop encryption
Step 7:  Tap on  Stop encryptiom
Step 8:  Enter  Password / PIN / Pattern
  1. Open the Settings
  2. Tap on General
  3. Tap on Lock screen & security
  4. Tap on Encryption & credentials
  5. Tap on Encrypt SD card
  6. Choose Stop encryption
  7. Tap on Stop encryptiom
  8. Enter Password/PIN/Pattern
