Personalized Ads

Personalized advertising has the advantage of displaying more relevant advertising, while for the "seller" it has the advantage of a higher purchase rate.

However, it has the disadvantage that each LG smartphone (and Google account) has a unique Advertising ID that is assigned to interests and usage. If this is not desired, the personalized advertising can be disabled in the settings.

Note: Disabling only turns off the personalized advertising. advertising, but will still be displayed.

Android 9 (LG UX 9.0)
Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  General
Step 3:  Tap on  Google
Step 4:  Tap on  Ads
Step 5:  Enable or Disable  Opt out of Ads Personalization
Step 6:  Confirm with  OK

Reset advertising ID

The Advertising ID is a randomly generated number that identifies the LG smartphone and is used to assign interests and usage patterns (but not personal information such as name, etc.) to display personalized advertising.

On the LG smartphone, or on Android, it is possible to reset the ad ID, which creates a new profile.

Step 1:  Open the  Settings
Step 2:  Tap on  General
Step 3:  Tap on  Google
Step 4:  Tap on  Ads
Step 5:  Tap on  Reset advertising ID
Step 6:  Confirm with  OK
