Enable or Disable SIM Lock

Depending on the default settings of the SIM card, a SIM lock is enabled on the LG smartphone. After the device is switched on or restarted, the PIN is requested with the SIM lock.

The SIM lock (PIN request) can be enabled or disabled in the security settings of the LG smartphone, and for dual SIM devices, this can be changed for each individual SIM card.

Android 9 (LG UX 9.0)
Step 1: Open the Settings
Step 2: Tap on General
Step 3: Tap on Lock screen & security
Step 4: Tap on Set up SIM card lock
Step 5: Enable or Disable Lock SIM card
Step 6: Enter current PIN and confirm with OK

  4. Tap on Set up SIM card lock
  5. Enable or Disable Lock SIM card
  6. Enter current PIN and confirm with OK

Change SIM PIN

The SIM card PIN can be changed in the security settings on the LG phone, but the SIM lock must be enabled to make a change.

The PIN must consist of a minimum of four and a maximum of eight numbers.

Step 1: Open the Settings
Step 2: Tap on General
Step 3: Tap on Lock screen & security
Step 4: Tap on Set up SIM card lock
Step 5: Tap on Change SIM PIN
Step 6: Enter current PIN and confirm with OK
Step 7: Enter new PIN  and confirm with  OK
Step 8: Confirm new PIN  and tap on  OK

  2. Tap on General
  3. Tap on Lock screen & security
  4. Tap on Set up SIM card lock
  5. Tap on Change SIM PIN
  6. Enter current PIN and confirm with OK
  7. Enter new PIN and confirm with OK
  8. Confirm new PIN and tap on OK
