OnePlus How to Organize App-Shortcuts on Home Screen

Add Apps automatically
When apps are installed on the OnePlus smartphone, an app shortcut is added to the home screen by default.
If you want to do the arrangement yourself, you can disable the automatic addition of app shortcuts at any time.



- Tap and hold a free area on home screen
- Tap on Home settings
- Enable or disable Add icon to Home screen
Hide Apps (Home Screen & App Drawer)
Whether or not the App Drawer is enabled on the OnePlus smartphone, we can set the display of individual apps and hide selected shortcuts.
Follow these steps to access the hidden apps:
- With the home screen enabled: Spread apart two fingers on the home screen.
- When the App Drawer is enabled: By swiping your finger to the right in the App Drawer.
Note: The hidden apps can be shown again by tapping and holding if desired.
In this guide we use the active App Drawer method.





- Swipe on a free area on home screen
- Swipe to the right
- Tap on Add
- Select apps to hide
- Tap on Save
Add an App Shortcut
If the app drawer is enabled, all apps are displayed in an overview.
If we want to add an app shortcut to the OnePlus smartphone's home screen, we simply hold the desired app and drag it up to the home screen.

- Drag the app icon upwards
- Release the app icon to position it
Remove App Shortcut
The app shortcuts added to the OnePlus smartphone's home screen can not only be arranged in any order, but can also be removed if an app is not used as often as expected. To do this, we tap and hold the desired shortcut and then select the Remove button.

- Tap on Remove
App notification dots
When we receive messages through Messenger, such as WhatsApp or other app notifications, a small dot is displayed by default above the app icon to alert us to new messages and notifications.
The notification points or dots can be disabled on the OnePlus smartphone at any time.





- Open the Settings
- Tap on Apps & notifications
- Tap on Notifications
- Tap on Advanced
- Enable or disable Allow notification dots
App locker
We can additionally protect apps on the OnePlus smartphone with a password request that immediately asks for the unlock method when the selected apps are opened.
The unlock method of the app lock is the lock screen password.
In addition, you can specify whether the content of notifications of locked apps should be displayed on the screen.
Note: If no screen lock has been set up yet, we will be forwarded directly to set it.







- Open the Settings
- Tap on Utilities
- Tap on App locker
- Tap on Add apps
- Choose the desired apps
- Tap on Back
- Enable or disable Hide notification content
