OnePlus How to Personalize Home Screen
OnePlus 618Table of contents
Add home screen
In order not to spread all apps and folders on a home screen page and lose track between all the app icons, we can add more pages on the OnePlus smartphone home screen.
This way, theoretically a messaging and social networking home screen page can be created, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram & Co.
To add another home screen, all we have to do is drag an app icon to the edge of the current last page, and another home screen will promptly open, allowing us to position the app shortcut anywhere we want.

- Tap and hold an app icon
- Drag the app icon to the edge of the home screen
- Release the app icon to position it on the new home screen
Grid layout on home screen
The OnePlus smartphone's start screen grid or /-layout can, as usual, be set in predefined grids of 5x5 or 5x6.
Here we can choose whether three, four or five columns should be set next to each other for the app arrangement.
Furthermore, the size of the app icons can be set in three different dimensions.

- Tap and hold a free area on home screen
- Tap on Home settings
- Tap on Home screen layout
- Choose a layout
- Tap on Save
- Choose Cancel or Align
Change theme on home/lock screen
The preset theme on the OnePlus smartphone can also be customized.
Depending on the wishes and needs of the user, we can choose between the following three options:
- Vibrant tints
- Illuminating light
- Nuanced dark

- Open the Settings
- Tap on Customization
- Tap on Preset Theme
- Choose a theme
- Confirm with Apply
Change contours of app icons
We can change the shape of the app icons or symbols in the OnePlus smartphone's home screen settings to further customize the overall design to the user's needs.
In addition to the pre-installed Oxygen or Hydrogen Icon Packs, other icon packs can be downloaded by clicking on the pre-defined button. This allows us to specify numerous designs of app icons, which can be square, fully round or rounded, to name a few examples.

Home Screen Assistant
If we swipe all of the OnePlus smartphone's home screens to the right, we get to the Discover home screen wizard.
Here we find Google feeds and current news topics. In addition, a search can be started using "Hey Google" or manually by typing on the keyboard.
The Google search bar and "Discover" can be disabled at any time in the home screen settings.
