Add Shortcut

If the App Overview is enabled, not all apps are displayed on the home screen. In addition to automatically placing shortcuts, you can also set them manually. An app shortcut can be added to the home screen by tapping and holding in the App Overview.

Step 1:  Swipe up to open the  Finder
Step 2:  Tap and hold an  App  you want
Step 3:  Drag the  Shortcut  to top of screen
Step 4:  Place the  Shortcut  at the position you want

App Drawer

By default, only predefined app shortcuts are displayed on the start screen of Samsung devices ex works. All other preinstalled and manually added apps are accessible via the App Drawer. Wipe up on the start screen to call up the app overview.

Samsung's One UI allows the user to disable the App-Drawer (App Overview), so all apps are displayed on the home screen. Both home screen layouts are saved, so changes can be undone.

Step 2:  Tap on  Display
Step 3:  Tap on  Home screen
Step 4:  Tap on  Home screen layout
Step 5:  Choose between  Home and Apps screens  and  Home screen only
Step 6:  Confirm with  Apply

App Drawer Button

Under Samsung's One UI, the App Overview is accessed by wiping up on the home screen. Alternatively, the App Overview can be accessed via an App button, as was the case with older Samsung models. A shortcut is displayed on the home screen that allows you to open the App Overview by simply tapping on it.

Notification Badge

Notification Badge are displayed on Samsung devices at the factory. These are indicators (with a number or dots) that show the number of times each app has been notified on the home screen. The Notification Badge can be turned on/off in the home screen settings.

Step 5:  Change Badge style or Enable/Disable  App icon badges

Remove App Shortcut

When the App Overview is enabled, app shortcuts on your Samsung device can also be removed from the Home screen. A long tap is enough to open the app shortcut editing function, where you can remove the shortcut from the Home screen.

Step 1:  Tap and hold the  App Shortcut  you want
Step 2:  Tap on  Remove from Home

Add Apps automatically

Newly installed apps are not automatically added to the Home screen on Samsung devices with One UI. By default, new apps can only be found in the App Overview. In the Home screen settings, you can enable the "Add apps to Home screen" feature, which automatically adds app shortcuts after installation.

Note: This option is not available if the App Overview is disabled.

Hide Apps

App shortcuts can be hidden on the home screen and app screen, and the Samsung One UI's home screen settings can be used to select installed apps that will no longer be visible.

Note: This feature only hides the app on the home screen and app screen, the hidden apps are still visible in the normal settings under Apps.

Notification Badge Style

The notification badge (app icon indicator) for apps are displayed by default on Samsung devices with the number of notifications, but a simple dot (without number) can also be displayed in the Home screen settings in addition to the number.
