Enable or Disable Edge Lighting
With the Edge Lighting, notifications can alternatively be displayed on an active or inactive screen. In this case, a pop-up is opened at the edge of the screen. The pop-up can be personalised according to style, colour, duration and transparency. The Edge Lighting is deactivated by default on the Samsung device, but can be activated in the settings.
Note: The Edge Lighting is only available on Samsung devices that have an OLED/AMOLED display.




- Open the Settings
- Tap on Display
- Tap on Edge screen
- Enable or disable Edge lighting
Allow/Disallow Apps
If the Edge Lighting is used on the Samsung device, only the messages app is displayed by default. In the sidelight settings, you can add more apps if they are supported. Alternatively, you can activate an option that automatically activates all apps for the Edge Lighting notifications.

- Tap on Display
- Tap on Edge screen
- Tap on Edge lighting
- Tap on Choose apps
- Enable or disable desired apps
Effects and colours
By default, new notifications in the Edge lighting are displayed in the color blue and with the style spotlight.
Other effects such as eclipse, heart, fireworks, echo and bubble are available in the settings. the Samsung Edge lighting also offers a wide range of different colours. the transparency and duration of the Edge lighting can also be adjusted.

- Tap on Display
- Tap on Edge screen
- Tap on Edge lighting
- Tap on Lighting style
- Choose desired Effect, Colour or Transparency and Duration
Show Edge lighting while...
The Edge lighting can be displayed either only when the screen is active, only when it is inactive or Always, which is the default but can be changed in the Edge lighting settings of the Samsung device.

- Choose between While screen is on, While screen is off and Always
