Default homepage

In the Samsung browser, the access is displayed by default, which already contains websites such as Google, Tchibo, Lidl, eBay and others.

But the start page can also be changed, either the access, also personalized or the one with the most frequently visited websites, or a defined website.

Block ads

The majority of websites on the Internet are financed by advertising, but the greed of some websites leads to a too large display of advertisements, which disturbs the user experience considerably. The Samsung browser offers some addons to block the advertising.

Note: Even though surfing without advertising is much more pleasant, it must also be considered what damage it can cause.

Font size

the text size is usually determined by the web pages. sometimes it may be too big, sometimes too small. in the Samsung browser, we also have the option of adjusting the text size to our perception. to do this, we can change the display size between 50 and 200 percent, whereby 100 percent corresponds to the specified size of the web page.

Change search engine

The Samsung browser offers a wide range of search engines ex works, with Google set as default, and we can change the default search engine to the following if you wish:

  • Google
  • Bing
  • Ask.com
  • Yandex
  • StartPage
  • DuckDuckGo
  • Yahoo!

Autoplay

Embedded videos are automatically played back in the Samsung Internet browser, but if this is not desired, we can block it.

Dark Mode

Dark mode (dark design) cannot be activated in the Samsung Browser Internet, and the entire Samsung device must be switched to display the browser in dark design.

If the dark mode is activated, not only the browser app is displayed in the dark design but also the web pages themselves. If the dark mode is not desired for web pages, we can activate the light mode in the menu so that the web pages appear in the "original" again.

JavaScript

JavaScript is a scripting language that was developed as an extension to HTML and CSS, of which web pages are made. With it, web pages can be changed dynamically. Today, a web page without JavaScript is hardly conceivable. Many functions require the scripting language to provide the best user experience.

JavaScript can also be deactivated on the Samsung device or in the Samsung browser.

Pop-ups

In the Samsung Browser Internet, pop-ups are blocked by default and can be enabled in the browser settings if desired. Unlike on the desktop, pop-ups on the Samsung device open as a new tab rather than a new window.
